Kari Lynch Band

March 15 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Kari Lynch Band

“Sweetheart, go on fall hard, but don’t lose your sweet heart” sings Michigan born and raised, now residing in Nashville, TN singer-songwriter and Country artist, Kari Lynch, on the first single from her latest album, “Little Games.”

The album, recorded in Nashville at the Legendary Sound Emporium Studios with Producer Andy Sheridan (CharlieHorse Productions, Hunter Hayes, Phil Vassar, Ashley Monroe, Jason Mraz) features 10 original songs and reveals that her talents span more than just a single genre, with flavors from a various collection of musical styles from Traditional Country to Americana to Indie-Pop to Rock.

“I find inspiration all over music genres and I pull elements from different styles when I write based on how the song moves me. Lyrics are important to me and I’ve always connected most with country music; particularly as a storyteller.”
Listening to “Little Games,” it’s easy to uncover the diverse and dynamic elements that make Kari Lynch the unique and talented singer, songwriter, collaborator and performer she is. The opening track “West Texas Ground” resonates with twangy rock and Americana textures, followed immediately by the gritty and painfully honest bluesy rock ballad, “Nothin’ That a Shot Won’t Fix.” Traces of Indie-Pop/Rock and Folk emerge elsewhere on tracks, “Nowhere Now”, “Lost” and the album’s title track, “Little Games.” That quintessential country sound can be heard most in classic hooks propelling the songs, “Can’t Move On,” “This is Gonna Hurt,” “One More Hit” and “Two To Be Lonely,” the album’s closing honky-tonkin’ track. “Sweetheart,” the first single off the eclectic album, has no doubt made its mark since its release in April 2016. The music video for Sweetheart has been viewed and shared thousands of times, it’s taken home top honors in various esteemed songwriting competitions, secured regular radio play on stations throughout Kari’s home state of Michigan and in the midwest and has connected her with fans of all ages and walks of life.
“I felt like ‘Sweetheart’ said something important and it felt like a special song to me, but I never imagined it would connect with people the way that it has. I have people across the spectrum reach out all the time to let me know what the song means to them. It’s the most humbling feeling to know that someone connects deeply with something I’ve written and that sometimes that connection helps them understand a situation they’re going through, or helps them cope or simply puts a smile on their face. It makes me work hard all the time as a songwriter and artist to make music that’s honest and give people a live show they won’t forget.”
Kari is no stranger to the spotlight. She’s played thousands of shows across the U.S and abroad, successfully released original music and videos, played to crowds in the tens of thousands and earned an impressive resume opening for some of country music’s most recognized artists including, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Dierks Bentley, The Band Perry, The Charlie Daniels Band and Alabama.

“Seeing my name alongside artists I’ve been listening to since I was a kid and reaching goals keeps me working all the time to keep the momentum going. It’s made me appreciate success that’s built from the ground up.”

For Kari, work and music have always gone hand-in-hand. For the past 7 years she’s toured throughout the country as an independent artist, acted as her own manager, booking agent and publicist, and worked tirelessly to make music her full-time career.

I never saw “making it” in the music industry as this sparkly dream that was going to be easy or happen overnight, so I decided early on I wasn’t going to sit back and wait for someone to do the work for me. My perspective is different because I’ve worked on all the aspects of my career, but I think that’s what keeps me working hard every day. At the end of the day I love what I do more than anything and it’s all about making the best music I can and putting everything I have into each show I play.”

It’s an appreciation for her dedicated fan base and a commitment to creating good and honest music that also fuels the fire. Her dynamic voice, combining classic country inflection with a modern Indie Pop-Rock and Americana sound, paired with relatable lyrics about real life and love, resonates with listeners, many who refer to her sound as “traditional country with a twist.”

Kari has honed in on finding success and solid ground in today’s music market while not being afraid to step off the beaten path. Her natural skill for producing catchy hooks and melodies that tie together for a modern, yet original sound, has turned the heads of not only country music fans, but fans of music in general. Her magnetic personality, clever and candid approach to songwriting and undeniable talent for connecting with listeners is reflected in her ability to garner devoted fans of all ages who continually fill the seats at her shows, line up to meet her afterward, take her album home and follow her on her social media networks.

“Finding common ground with people is such an important part of creating music for me and I’m constantly blown away by the lines of folks waiting after a show to get their CDs and posters signed or take pictures. I will stand there all night to meet every single person because it truly is that important to me.”

Her dedication to her fans and love for performing and songwriting has paid off in a big way. In addition to the release of her latest full-length album, “Little Games”, she has also released 3 EP’s which saw success on iTune’s “New and Noteworthy” chart and received praised reviews and radio time. And, at a time when many artists are struggling to sell hard copies of albums, she is selling out of them.
“I sold out of hard copies of ‘Little Games’ 3 months after it released and hard copies of my prior EP sold out 4 times during it’s run. It’s encouraging and it tells me that if you put the honest energy into your work, people appreciate that and care about experiencing it in its entirety and not just a few pieces of it.”

Though new fans may see her as a new artist, Kari has been writing and performing since age seven. She grew up in Clare, a small town in central Michigan, and fell in love with music and songwriting early in her life, listening to everything from Patsy Cline, to Elvis, to Garth Brooks, to Bonnie Raitt, to Tom Petty to Johnny Cash and Alabama.

“I knew I would write and sing songs for a living the first time my grandma played me Patsy Cline’s cassette tape when I was 6-years-old. The first song was, “Crazy” and I just remember feeling like a fire lit up inside me. I was totally captivated by her voice. Soon after that I heard Garth Brooks, “No Fences” for the first time and I fell in love with the idea of writing my own songs. I’ll never forget that moment because it sealed everything for me. So, when I was 7-years-old I started writing and performing every chance I could. I was listening to strong female artists and honest songwriters like, Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt and John Prine and  just trying to learn everything I could from them.”

Kari also learned early on that what inspired her most was real life, relationships, love and loss.
“I witnessed and experienced heartbreak early in my life. It made me grow up faster and become more independent. Writing was my way of trying to figuring out life and everything that was going on inside my head. Songwriting is my place to say exactly how I feel, no holds barred. It’s hard to write about your demons, your mistakes, heartbreaks or the way you love someone, but I’ve learned not to be afraid to write about what scares me and not to hold back because that’s where the truth is and people feel it when you write the truth.”

Kari is one of those rare artists who has the ability to step on stage and immediately connect with the audience, making new listeners feel like they’re old friends. People connect with her genuine character and approachable disposition, yet she possesses that exciting and special quality that those who’ve seen her perform describe as the “it factor” that sets her apart, giving her a fanbase that relentlessly supports her and is always hungry for new music.

“I always want that approachability with people and I leave it all out there on the stage because being good to the fans and giving them great songs and a fun and worthwhile live show and experience they’ll never forget is at the forefront of what’s important to me.”

Kari’s lively stage presence, powerful voice, sincere character and honest, gutsy approach to songwriting leaves an impression on all of those who get the chance to hear her. With a continuous and rapidly growing fan base, a loaded tour schedule for 2017 that takes her all over the U.S, a new single and music video set for release this year and her latest album, “Little Games” which “proves her mettle as a first-rate songwriter and collaborator who’s striking voice simply elevates her music,” Kari Lynch is a true artist and songwriter to watch.
